Mobile app developer, product designer & system architect

Apps built from an idea to a real launch

Hi, I'm Paddy. I'm a UK based mobile app developer, product designer and system architect with over 15 years of experience building mobile applications and business systems. Some are my own products, like Pocket Freight and Ever Afterly. Others are built for people and businesses who have an idea they want to take seriously. Whether it's a brand new startup idea, an internal business app or something more ambitious, I can help shape the plan, design the app, build it for Android and iPhone, create the backend and get it ready to launch.

Current Products

Real products, not mockups

PaddyMDev is where I build apps, systems and new ideas. Some become products like Pocket Freight and Ever Afterly. Others are built for clients looking to solve a problem, improve a process or bring an idea to life. Whatever the project, the goal is always the same: understand what needs to be built, design it around real people and make sure it's something that can be used day to day in the real world.

What I Can Help With

Custom mobile apps built properly from the ground up

I can help take an app from a rough idea through to a finished product. That might mean working out the features, designing the screens, building the Android and iPhone apps, creating the backend and getting everything ready for launch. Some projects are published under the client's own Apple and Google accounts, some can be managed through PaddyMDev if that suits the project better, and some are handed over completely with the code and setup agreed from the start.

Mobile Apps

Android and iPhone apps designed around the business, the users and the job the app needs to do.

App Design

Clear screens, sensible flows and a product style that fits the idea instead of looking like a template.

Backend Systems

APIs, databases, authentication, uploads, notifications and the hidden parts that keep an app running.

Launch & Support

Google Play release, App Store submission, updates and support after launch. For apps built in house, backend hosting can also be managed as part of the project.

How I Work

From the first chat to a live app

You do not need to turn up with a massive specification. Most projects start with a rough idea, a problem in the business or something you wish already existed. From there, we can work out what the app needs, what should be in the first version and how to get it built without making the project bigger than it needs to be. Every mobile app is built natively for its platform, whether that's Android, iPhone or both.

01

Idea & Planning

We go through what the app needs to do, who it is for and what should be included in the first version.

02

Design & Build

I turn the plan into screens, flows, features, backend logic and working app builds you can test.

03

Test & Launch

The app is tested, refined and prepared for release on Google Play, the App Store or both.

04

Support & Improve

After launch, I can help with updates, fixes, new features and support as the app grows. For apps I build in house, I can also manage the backend hosting if the project needs it.

FAQ

Common app development questions

Most people have a few questions before starting a project. Here are some of the ones I get asked most often.

Can you build an app from just an idea?

Yes. You do not need a full technical plan before getting in touch. I can help shape the idea, work out the main features and turn it into a proper development plan.

Can you build for Android and iPhone?

Yes. I can build apps for Android, iPhone or both, depending on what the project needs and where your users are likely to be.

Can the app be published under my own name?

Yes. The app can be prepared for release under your own Apple and Google developer accounts, or managed through PaddyMDev where that makes more sense for the project. This can be agreed before development starts.

Do you provide app hosting and support?

Yes, but hosting is only offered for apps I build in house. If your app needs a backend, database, uploads, authentication or online features, hosting can be included as part of the build and supported after launch.

How much does a custom app cost?

It depends on the size of the app, the features, the backend work and whether it needs Android, iPhone or both. The best way to price it properly is to talk through the idea first.

What kind of apps do you build?

I mainly focus on business apps, customer apps, startup products, booking systems, logistics tools, planning apps and custom systems that need more than a basic website.

Price Guide

Rough project sizes

Every app is different, so these are guide prices rather than fixed packages. The final cost depends on the features, backend work and whether the app is needed for Android, iPhone or both.

Starter App

From £2,000

Best suited to smaller native Android or iPhone apps, simple business tools and first versions of a new idea.

Custom Platform

From £10,000

For larger projects that combine mobile apps, backend systems, dashboards, integrations and bespoke business processes.
